@197historias is a publication that celebrates the memory of our missing people, from their passions, their loves and their customs, to bring them closer to the new generations through empathy and memory.
When @aartaa13 and @kiaralucs contacted me, I was honest and told them I had never illustrated a portrait. That's why we decided that my contribution could be to represent some of the people who don't have photographs, who got lost or had their photographs disappear along with them. I tried, then, to represent moments, situations, objects and elements that would highlight their customs and values. And that at the same time would be nice and fun to see for the little ones, middle-aged and older people :)
The first is “Bicho”, Eduardo García Kieffer. A humble, caring guy with a heart as big as he is. A strategist, one of those who know how to grab a jacket at those times of the year when it is hot during the day and at night, when he comes home from work with a bag of biscuits, it gets cool. His disappearance is the result of his own solidarity, which led him, in the greatest of his strategies, to go out to rescue his sister-in-law who was detained in Paraguay, but not before grabbing a jacket for when the sun went down.
